Job Description:
ITEC is looking for a talented Sr. Test Technician to join our team. This successful candidate will work directly with the team to test satellite ground communications products. The Engineering Technician will work at either the system, subsystem or component level and will work collaboratively with Engineering, Production and Development to provide accurate and comprehensive test requirements.


Job Responsibilities:
• Testing many different types of printed circuit assemblies (PCAs), Modules (mother/daughter board configurations) and Chassis according to published and controlled test procedures (TP).
• Other responsibilities include diagnosis and repair of test failures, support of new and updated TPs and support of testing new product development.
• Must be able to interpret electrical design schematics and support troubleshooting efforts under very general supervision.
• Will interface frequently with other Test Technicians, and Assemblers and will work across functional areas such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production Leads, and Project Managers.
• Will work collaboratively and iteratively with departments at other locations if and as required, refining requirements to ensure that testing supports the deliverable intent even when not explicitly stated in requirements.
• Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Understanding and ability to troubleshoot RF/electrical/electronic systems using technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
• Familiarity with computerized data acquisition and automated test control systems and instrumentation.


Required Skills:
• 10+ Years’ experience testing PCAs and Modules according to defined Test Procedures (TPs), reporting results and participating in troubleshooting and repair are required. Assembly skills will be required for Module (mother + daughter boards and enclosures) assembly and test.
• Primary focus will be on “DG” Products, working with the Engineering and other Test Technicians to fully understand the testing in this area.
• Secondary responsibilities will include testing chassis and developing the skills necessary to act as comprehensive test back-up in other test areas.
• Take ownership of the “DG” test area. Understand all equipment functionality and capabilities. Review, evaluate and ensure adequate supplies of “known good boards” required to maintain test systems and for use in diagnosis and repair of DG products.
• Arrange the DG test area to make best use of critical footprint (use Racks if needed, store seldom used equipment, etc).
• Working from schematics; build, test, troubleshoot and repair production and prototype electronic products, components, parts, equipment, and systems.
• Record all test results (pass/fail) and applicable notes in support of performance metrics, troubleshooting, yields, and improving supplier quality.
• Perform quality soldering, desoldering, and PCA rework at or above IPC workmanship standards
• Build production and prototype electronic products including, but not limited to: Chassis, Racks, Dell’s, Signal Conditioning Boards (SCBs) and Input/Output (I/O) panels.
• Test various Chassis types which may include some chassis and board level assembly.
• Working from schematics and engineering drawings and with help from others, adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning components using all tools available including crimpers and soldering irons.
• Complete RMA (Return Material Authorization) assembly and repair work to support Customer Service.
