ABOUT THIS POSITION 

 

ettain group currently has an opening for a Product Designer. This position will report up through our Top-Funnel vertical. There is a strong need to find a Product Designer who can lead and support the creative direction and overall design work output for the Stores team.   

 

The Product Designer should be an expert in graphic/interface design and will be responsible for the delivery and output of quality UX design deliverables, including wireframes, supporting visuals, prototypes in order to assist designers to produce pixel perfect comps. The Product Designer should have a general knowledge of external processes and technologies.

To be successful in this role, thProduct Designer will need to be able to design and develop rich and engaging user experiences across all channels. The ideal candidate should possess a strong mix of UX design sense as well as technical abilities in order to successfully implement complex projects. 

 

While we are certainly looking for well-rounded candidates to fill this role, there are areas of focus that are going to be extremely important for people to be successful in the job: 

 

CUSTOMER OBSESSION 

One of the most important factors for a successful candidate is their ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions. UX is the voice of the customer and all design decisions need to be taken with the customer in mind. As customer advocates, the Product Designer will need to always design and deliver the best customer experience. 

 

OWNERSHIP 

Overall, there are multiple roles that make up a UX project; however, the Product Designer needs to hold accountable not only their own work but also the work of other UX peers working on the project. The nature of our work has us interacting with almost every group across the Enterprise. It is important that the candidates have experience in the ability to influence upward, present their ideas clearly, listen, and facilitate working sessions with a broad (and opinionated) audience. Also, a designer that can inspire the people around them, make tough decisions / take smart risks, and take ownership of their work and decisions. 

 

THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX 

A successful candidate is an artist, builder, and collaborator who understands the big picture. They need to take a hands-on approach to not only how the application looks but also how it functions. This role needs a leader to think big and take risks. The candidate will also be mentoring other UX Designers and needs to raise the bar for quality, consistency, and artistic vision.  

 

HAVE A BACKBONE, DISAGREE & COMMIT 

The Product Designer needs to be able to stand behind their work and defend it when questioned about any design or experience decisions. The role needs a strong candidate to be able to stand up for the customer and to deliver the highest quality experience through design. 

Requirements:  

  • Enterprise-level experience  

  • Lead experience, managing/mentoring UX Designers 

  • Agile/Scrum experience 

  • Enterprise system/software experience (plus)
