The Manager of Systems Engineering serves as a hands-on member of the Technology Services engineering team, supporting the development and deployment of Windows and Linux based systems architectures and devops pipelines within global platforms. The Manager of Systems Engineering will manage the systems engineering and devops team and implement and maintain the goals and policies required by the Organization. The ideal candidate should have the ability to design, configure, and deploy enterprise servers, which will support the applications and systems of all of the company's business units in addition to providing and implementing systems and devops best practices using a combination of technologies such as Windows and Linux Servers, mix of on-prem and Azure, Bash and PowerShell scripting, automation of CI/CD pipelines, OpenShift or Docker, Citrix / VDI, Exchange / Active Directory. Travel up to 10%.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on engineering and operations of Windows and Linux Servers, mix of on-prem and Azure, Bash and PowerShell scripting, automation of CI/CD pipelines, OpenShift or Docker, Citrix / VDI, Exchange / Active Directory
  • Design and implement server architectures to provide highly available services
  • Provide final escalation support and guidance to all levels of support escalations teams and engineers
  • Translate technical requirements into functional designs and engineer solutions for existing and developmental workflows
  • Analyze infrastructure design and customer requirement performance standards to determine project specifications
  • Conduct tests assuring safe and satisfactory product performance
  • Write and maintain technical documentation in reference to equipment installation and operation
  • Design, install, and deliver complex configurations within deadlines
  • Provide tier 3 support for all production issues
  • Communicate activities, issues, and progress to management/customers in an adequate, concise, and timely manner
  • Lead multiple projects in various phases of development and attend related vendor meetings to track development paths
  • Manage the activities of staff, ensuring short/long term timelines are met
  • Develop and mentor staff to ensure personal and professional growth

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to design, configure, and deploy enterprise servers, which will support the applications and systems of all of the company's business units in addition to providing and implementing systems and devops best practices using a combination of technologies such as Windows and Linux Servers, mix of on-prem and Azure, Bash and PowerShell scripting, automation of CI/CD pipelines, OpenShift or Docker, Citrix / VDI, Exchange / Active Directory
  • Experience with systems documentation and operational procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
  • Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles
  • 10+ years’ of experience planning, designing, implementing, and supporting multi-vendor, multi-platform enterprise systems ideally in a 24/7 customer facing enterprise
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in project management practices and standard
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent, relevant experience
